Introduction

"Discovery" in legal parlance is basically the process by which
one party formally obtains information about the case from the other parties
and other witnesses. "Investigation" is basically all other fact gathering
related to the case.
There are several different methods of discovery which can be
broken down into two basic categories: "written discovery" and
"depositions."
